The Disappeared was my first book Dark Regions, though only the paperback (signed though since it was one of the first 100 paperbacks purchased). Thought it was a good book. Not perfect, but definitely not a bad one

I'm on board with you Patrick, that is one weird arse cover, (but, for me, The Disappeared is the truly creepy one - and has all kinds of connotations that don't bear thinking about !!!! ) ....

It's a fanged cow skull with something in it's nostril holes. Rick Hautula wrote the intro nad I was wondering where his signature was!

There is also something in the fang on the right side, looks like a girl sitting and holding her knees and staring right at you

Maybe the design is supposed to be a rorscach test. I think it's dried blood.
