I really wanted that hard cover of Walls of the Castle. It's a unique dark story. I love the art too. Which doesn't really have much to do with the story, but fits the feel of the book perfectly.

Quite an enjoyable read, though I found some Chadbourne's art to be out of touch with the tone of the story. And of the events of the story didn't completely make sense to me.
Spoiler! In his afterword, Brian states credit Brad Saenz (I assume that's our own bsaenz24 on this forum) with helping him with tclairifying he reason Adam left Beacon Point, but the reason given seemed to be only an assumption and didn't sit well with me. I'd be interested in knowing what the original reason was in the original publication. Put in a spoiler, of course.
Spoiler!Adam's reasoning for leaving town is the basically same in both versions. They've been called heroes for something they've done, but he knows that there is something else that people don't know that, if the information came to light, would change how people looked at what they had done. The big difference between the versions is WHAT exactly happened that caused them to be called heroes. The entire flashback chapter to the summer when they were building the cabin is almost completely different in the original hardcover. But the end *result* is the same, with him leaving town so as to not spill his guts about what happened.
This book gets a lot of mixed reactions, which I completely understand. It's pretty different for me. Thanks for checking it out!

KJ is a fascinating read, no matter where you "stand" on belief and/or philosophy.

Either way though, The Shining is an awesome movie.
