I got lucky! I assume you can tell if one of your items on ebay is one somebody's watch list. When I saw it drop to $99, I figured the seller just wanted to dump it and move on. Happy to oblige!

It's my day off and I suddenly realized that I had never been to a Hal Price Books store before. When I went on line, I realized that the closed one to me was 30 minutes away; so that's why. But I decided to go anyway. And What I saw made me want to cry. At least 2O CD volumes with mangled and ripped jackets. An SoD Vol.2 without a jacket and a scratched leather cover for $100. There was one CD volume that I didn't have that had a perfect cover, but I waited to see what I get in the F134 Grab Bag. Then I saw a number of sp volumes with ripped and mangled covers and I didn't feel better as much as just less sad. Anyway, I did find some things I wanted.

A slipcased first print Plume pbk of The Green Mile.

Just FYI, the slipcased Green Mile is a book club edition. If you look closely, you'll not see a price on the book.

Thanks, John. Its the only edition of TGM I have that is in one volume. I bought as a reading copy and because it had a slipcase.

Found The Painted Darkness trade pbk in the mail today. Read as the PDF ebook CD offered in 2010, but never got the HC--stupid me. O well.

Like when you got your first book you were not hooked.I was like damn I should not have done this but glad I did.Love the Painted Darkness.I have thr arc and the Signed slip case edition.Very nice book.

Trade HCs I came home with after my weekly trip to B&N.

Railsea by China Mieville. Ndever read a young adult book by Mieville. He's quite a challenge for adult audiences, so I'm really interested to read this one. He's......out there, politically; but his books are fantastic reads.
