No but there are characters on this one that are in the Pendergast series. On thing that is cool about their books is that they all take place in the same universe.

That Sigma series looks good - I want to start from book 1. Yet, I also want to get into the Pendergast series too - and Thunderhead is NOT part of that.

Subterranean is his first book (as Rollins). Sandstorm is the first of the Sigma series. Subterranean wasn't originally published in hardcover. A hardcover release of his first three books were done recently, however.

I haven't read it, but the overviews I've seen sound like it's a very fun read. I want to branch out a bit from sci-fi/horror, or science type reads. One other one I want to get a good copy of (for cheap hopefully) is the first in the Sigma Force series by James Rollins - Subterranean

I've been looking for a nice copy of thunderhead but the only ones I come across have yellowed pages and are beat up.

Stopped at a used book store in Detroit (actually Southgate) on the weekend - it's an old Border's store ( a small one ) that turned into an Ukazoo - well they are closing now too.....
Grabbed a nice, like new, hardcover of Thunderhead by Preston & Child, and a very good condition pb of The Songs of Distant Earth by Arthur C Clarke - total of about $7.00. Pics will follow soon.
I actually like the PB cover of Thunderhead better, but for the price and condition - how could I pass it up!!! It will be first Preston/Child.

Yes it was. Strange Magic is a very good book. Ford Rollo is another author I really like.

I'm curious to see how the "print on demand" will work out for them. I believe that was in the email they sent out.
