Nice grab on both sets. Missing a few of those Cemetery Dance magazine's myself. Have fun reading.

I also extended my Cemetery Dance collection, finding a batch of issues that neatly preceded mine. Here they are, fresh from the box:

Even more fine reading ahead!

A recent splurge on magazines has seen one's collection swell further. Here's a heads-up of what may be a theme to my collection thread in the near future:

What you see here are 211 issues of Interzone, a UK sci-fi and fantasy fiction magazine that's been on the go for over thirty years and has published stories from a ton of established names. I managed to buy a job lot of 155 issues a few weeks ago, with only three early issues missing. I have a lot of reading ahead!

Here's another cool item for any fantasy fans, with an eyecatching cover of an implausibly fiery battleaxe by Dominic Harman:

Legends - Stories in honour of David Gemmell: limited edition hardback cover. by lucian.poll, on Flickr
This was launched to help fund the Gemmell Awards and many of the authors were in attendance. I thought the limited edition hardback was a tidy piece of work and so stumped up a little extra for it:

Legends - Stories in honour of David Gemmell: signature sheet signed by Joe Abercrombie, James Barclay, Storm Constantine, Jonathan Green, Tanith Lee, Juliet E. McKenna and Anne Nicholls. by lucian.poll, on Flickr

Love this!!!!Originally posted by Lucian Poll View PostAnd I suppose we can't really talk Joe Hill without mentioning this:

I don't know why, but I really like the cover to this book. Maybe it's the cool glossy rain effect when you hold it up to the light...

^Ha, how appropriate. I dig both covers, but I do like the UK one more. And both make Revival look like a joke, though it did that on its own.

Nice additions. Love the UK edition of Mister Mercedes. Better then the U.S. cover.

I am afraid I can be of no help then as I am in the other Washington.Originally posted by Lucian Poll View PostHi Martin! I think my copy may be an early-bird as I've got an ad running inside.
Any suggestions you have are most welcome. I'll be staying at the same hotel in which WFC is taking place, which is the Hyatt Regency Crystal City near Ronald Reagan Airport - so not-quite-Washington-but-pretty-close. I'll be there a few days either side of the event to do a wee bit exploring.

Hahaha, have fun on your trip overseas!Originally posted by Lucian Poll View PostI found a few bars in DC that promise a good old-fashioned pub quiz, which amuses me no end. Yes, I'll have travelled thousands of miles to take part in the very thing I need only cross the road for (literally), but for once I'll be able to use the team name "Norfolk n' good" and not have everyone in the place groan and have me thrown out.

There is lots do do in Washington. Let me know where you will be and I can give you some suggestions.Originally posted by Lucian Poll View PostThanks, Theli! I should get my WFC 2013 haul out of my system just in time to attend this year's shindig in Washington. That's right, folks, Mr Poll is heading Stateside!
I haven't quite figured what Washington offers gawping tourists in early November, but Google Maps proudly informs me there's a Burger King in the middle of The Pentagon, so obviously I'll have to check that out.
