I'll be sure to flaunt the title pages of any copies I get signed on this here thread. If you can stomach what would be the literary equivalent of holiday snaps, I may even post a few scenes from the con.

    Thanks, guys.

I'm quite the opposite on the Nevills, Lincoln, in that I've got 'Last Days' and 'The Ritual' on my TBR pile! The Dog-Faced Gods trilogy has a lot of things going for it - books two and three are great page-turners, and there is a real sense of closure to the trilogy - but there were a few big things I had to turn a blind-eye to. I'm composing a review for my Goodreads page/blog, but at the moment it's comparable in length to the books themselves.

I agree, Squire, the Mieville covers are a little ho-hum front on. They don't show on the picture I took, but the spines of each book are a vibrant shade of whatever colour is used on the front, which is quite eyecatching when placed on a bookshelf.

Nice editions. Especially love the Mievilles, though I don't care for those particular covers.

Nice to see another Adam Nevill fan, Lucian. I recently read 'The Ritual', and I'm 3/4 of the way through 'Last Days'. 'Apartment 16' is on it's way to me, and should land next week.
I've only read a couple of shorts by Sarah Pinborough, but I really like her style.

Thanks again, guys. I'm glad you're enjoying the Black Static covers. There are a couple of humdingers in this post too, specfically issues #13 and #14. (I'd also recommend checking out covers from past issues of their sister magazine Interzone. Some of them are simply stunning.)

I'm also glad to have given you a few flashbacks, TJ. Putting The Unexplained posts together was a lot of fun and something of a trip down memory lane for me too! In fact parts of it influenced my Cemetery Dance submission, Flood Warning. (Keep them fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes crossed for me, folks!)

Okay, I've hit 60K on the NaNo novel so I think I'll wind down with a few more covers, this time #13 - #18:

    Issue 13
    Cuckoos by Tim Lees
The Shadow Keeper by Kim Lakin-Smith
    Dead Loss by Carole Johnstone
Some Of Them Fell by Joel Lane
My Secret Children by James Cooper
    Includes Q&A with Joel Lane

    Issue 14
We, Who Live In The Wood by Paul Finch
The Eleventh Day by Christopher Fowler
Hootchie Cootchie Man by Maurice Broaddus
    Survivor's Guilt by Roseanne Rabinowitz
    Teen Spirit by Gary McMahon
    Includes Q&A with Gary McMahon

    Issue 15
Eight Small Men by James Cooper
The Knitted Child by Simon Kurt Unsworth
Maximum Darkness by Alan Scott Laney

Tu Sufrimiento Shall Protect Us by Mercurio D. Riviera
+ 10 more winning flash fiction stories from the Campagin For Real Fear
    Includes Q&A with Adam Nevill

If any of the issues pique your interest you might like to know that many of them are still available from Black Static's website: http://ttapress.com/blackstatic/backissues/ or from BBR Online: http://www.bbr-online.co.uk/catalogu...ckStatic.shtml.

I shall return with some more covers soon. Laters!
