I've never been able to understand the appeal of Stand by Me. I love The Body, but Reiner's adaptation leaves me cold.
Last year I decided to show it in class, but it didn't go over too well.

In my book, Stand By Me doesn't even come close to being the best King film ever. (Of course, Shawshank and The Green Mile hadn't been made at the time.)

Now I remember: this is where I got my early limited King editions, Craig Goden's Time Tunnel. Castle Rock must have put me on his track and he -Craig- was a very nice guy to deal with. Payments were made by Postal Money Orders. Are these things still around? So s-l-o-w.....It would take weeks, even months, for a transaction to be finalized. All correspondence was made by letter....
Craig passed away sometime ago.
