Just the unsigned edition did not come with the prints bound in, they were sold separately.

Interesting. I'd always assumed the B&N edition w/ all its art was a reprint-of-sorts of the Centipede edition -- didn't realize the prints were loose and not included in the latter.

I thought I'd heard that the run of 600 lacked the interior photos present on the other editions, no? Perhaps I misunderstood something I've read, or perhaps you're saying the photos were separate and not in the book.

It would be good news if this edition did have photos; I might then be interested in hunting one down - without the photos, it strikes me as just a big, black lump, scarcely more appealing then the common illustrated edition (Knopf etc.), which would have the photos. Ok, I'm overstating things - I like cloth books, I like Salem's Lot, and I like limited editions - so who am I kidding, I'd still want one of these, but not for $200+ without photos.

Correct, it only has the cover photo and one photo page inside the book. My copy came with the traycase made by www.stephenkingcollector.com and a set of photos courtesy of Betts Books.

I got an excellent copy (1/600) from Betts Books a while back. Not only was it still brand new and sealed in shrink wrap, it also came with a set of the original photos taken for the book. If I remember correctly I paid $225 for it.

That's why I have never bothered trying to get a copy of this edition. I heard it's just too much of a nightmare to keep clean!!!

Damn shame though, as Salem's Lot is a bloody good book!!!

What it needs is a specialist publisher, expert in creating beautifully crafted books to really go to town and release a definitive super deluxe edition...

Now where do we find such a publisher?....

I just picked this book up for $190 in mint condition still sealed. I think it was a great price, but shows what you can get with patience.

Does anyone have one of The Collectors cases for sale?
