That's the reasoned approach I'm trying to take...but as well all know reason doesn't always determine the outcome in book collecting.

EDIT: Well, I just happened to glance at my King collection, and it appears I don't have a copy of FIRESTARTER! The UK 1sts I was thinking of are CHRISTINE and PET SEMETARY. I don't in fact have any copy of that book, one of my more favorite titles from King. So this new PS edition just suddenly got a heckuva lot more attractive to me.
...aaannd I just snagged a copy. Had to, really, after this morning's surprising shelf realization. What a wild ride this morning has been: from not needing a copy because I (thought I) already had an edition of it, to not having any copy at all, to grabbing a PS copy to fill a collection hole that I never realized I had.

The price jumps are disgusting, but that's the business these days...

I don't have a hardcover copy of Firestarter and I already have all of their other King titles, so I'll still pick it up. But damn, if it ain't pricey for a PS Publishing title!

I like the artwork on this one but not the price point. For most of these new productions I am only a spectator. TBH, and it's not aligned with the market these days, I would only be a player at this price point for a new story or something a little more special on a reprinted edition for an SK title.

For any other authors, regardless of new or reprinted, I likely wouldn't even think about it.

Grabbed my copy as a part of their early pre-order! Looks like the first batch sold out quickly.

Looks like Firestarter pre order is up.

Just received my copy of 11/22/63 from PS Publishing. Glad to have this in hand as I always worry about international items shipping near the holidays. Not sure what S.King book PS will do next but am looking forward to whichever comes next in the series.

Sort of like casebound trade editions with a dust jacket. Nothing fancy on the production side, but that's reflected in the cheaper prices.
That's what I figured. Thanks for the feedback.

Also looks like there are still PC and dinged copies of Different Seasons available! Probably won't last too long.

Good to know, thanks. I certainly hope that consensus proves correct.

EDIT: Well, I checked my shelf, and it appears I do have a UK 1st/1st hardcover. But still, a deluxe edition of this one would be great, especially since I can’t afford the Phantasia Press S/L HC. Maybe it’s the parent in me, but I’ve always had a good deal of affection for FIRESTARTER, and it doesn’t seem like it gets as much love as some of King’s other classics, which is a shame.
Someone asked what was coming next in the PS SK line, and the consensus was Firestarter. I guess we'll find out eventually.

I've always liked Firestarter too. I've reread it quite a few times over the years. I bought my paperback copy on November 10, 1981, and kept the newspaper clipping with the movie time at the Adelphi theater in Dublin. I'm sure I went to see it on release day

The hardcover is nothing special, just bought it years ago to have a copy.
