Undecided on this one, but fortunately Brian's pre-order model through the end of May allows me some time to consider it.

I'm not big on either music or religious themes in horror fiction (though I know the latter is a long-standing and appropriate trope), and from what I understand REVIVAL has both. That said, the purported Machen and Lovecraft influences in the story have always intrigued me and thus I've never completely discounted buying/reading this one (though I've passed up $2 tpb copies, so my enthusiasm admittedly isn't high)...so perhaps that's what this opportunity should afford me, to finally read the thing in a lovely format. We'll see.

Either way, I wish Brian lots of success and fortune in his new venture...he's certainly starting off with a bang!

Pulled the trigger on a copy a couple days ago. Had more or less written this one off, but decided to pull the trigger when contacted, which kind of surprises me, actually. Ah well.

I had to shift my order to the payment plan because it's this plus Brother plus Disappearance at Devil's Rock (all on one invoice) plus it's right after the holidays plus ideally Dune is up for preorder in the next month, so I have to watch my budget. So I'll get my copy in like...June...

Please don't remind me about DUNE...It's January and my budget has already been blown to smithereens...

I rarely look at TheDarkTower.org but I did this morning out of boredom/curiosity and I saw this information from Brian Freeman which was shared there but not here.

"They [the shipping boxes] turned out to be a bit of a disaster in the sense that I couldn't actually SHIP the books in them! When the boxes arrived last week, the smell of the ink was overpowering. I tried airing them out in the sunlight for a few days, and the smell did get better, but it was still “there” a little bit and I didn’t want to risk that smell “sticking” to the books. So I didn't actually end up shipping books IN the boxes, and am returning to the drawing board for future projects!"

But then I saw a reply from someone who did receive their copy with one of the special shipping boxes, so hopefully the problem has been resolved. The boxes look wonderful as does the book!

No, I never felt confident that the boxes wouldn't transfer some of the ink smell to the books, but I did send the boxes separately to my LetterPress Pub level Patreon supporters as a bonus item.

Thanks for the clarification, Brian. Hopefully the issue can be resolved for future Letterpress Publications, as the boxes are a nice touch and are a good incentive for people to support you on Patreon.

Yeah, I'm working with the printer on the issue to see if we can find a way around it without reducing the amount of ink used since I really liked how we designed the box. But it might be a matter of using less ink, so going with a simpler look. In the meantime, I'm having some "generic" LPP shipping boxes made, with a much simpler design that's basically the logo and name in some key places, and those should be A-OK. I'll post a photo whenever they arrive!
