Anyone jump on today's Suntup announcement? Have never read The Magus but am tempted. The Collector is the only thing that I have ever read by Fowles.

Received my dinged Suntup copy of Blake Crouch's "Dark Matter". Am supper happy with this purchase as you can hardly tell that there was an issue with the book. From what I can see, the only issue is some small creasing in the upper-right hand corner of the first 30 pages of the book. Beyond that, the book and the slipcase are in perfect shape. Feel like I really scored with this one and cannot wait to give it a read. Have only read the 1st book in the Pines trilogy by Crouch so far and loved it; so, I have high hopes for this one!

No. The blurb mentions that it's a 19th century writer, and Lovecraft wrote in the 20th century.

    The consensus so far is:

January - The Magus, John Fowles
February - The Godfather, Mario Puzo
March - An Edgar Allen Poe book

I guess with the right page layout, March could be Poe?? The over-sized Easton Press I have is 800+ pages.

Any guesses for the upcoming Suntup publishing schedule? Seem pretty obvious that February will be The Godfather, but, have no idea on the other two.

    1) January-This masterwork of contemporary literature was the first novel the author wrote, although it was his third to be published.

    2) February- A searing portrayal of a family set in the 1940s criminal underworld, this novel took the world by storm upon its release, selling over nine million copies in two years. Three years after its release, it would be adapted into an iconic film which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

    3) March- Weighing in at over 1250 pages, this is the complete collection of works written by one of the most important and influential American writers of the 19th century, whose stories continue to haunt.

I didn't realize there was an art portfolio.

I kind of ignored the announcement since I got the last two AEs from Camelot (I assume Kim will get one of these for me too - I better check!)

I haven't been picking up this series from Suntup, but as usual the editions look fantastic. The portfolio is pretty cool, though I've decided that I'm am out of the market for that type of product. I tried with the Doubleday Years portfolios from CD and I found that they just sit on my shelf. I never opened them up to admire the art or anything.

I picked up an AE plus the art portfolio...I don't do art portfolios, but I appreciated that it was smaller (8.5 x 11) so will fit on the shelf, and, most importantly, the fact that it gathered all the artwork from all four editions (which I've all bought in AE) was a nice way to gather the books as a group and pay homage to the four books as a set, as a whole.

Congrats on the former and sorry to hear about the latter.

I picked up a copy of the AGE. Haven't read this novel before and am aware that a lot of people seemed to be down on it; however, I will reserve judgement for myself. Also wanted to keep my Suntup AGE Lecter set complete! Now, let's hope there are no more book announcements before January as December has been expensive for me between this, Centipede, & DRP over the last few weeks!

You are correct! I'm going to have to pass on this but it looks lovely. Money is tight right now. Daughters wedding a few weeks ago and the holidays and a divorce seem to be impacting my wallet. LOL

Just received my numbered copy of "Imagica" - what a massive and massively beautiful book! I own a lot of books; this is among the largest, bigger than "Big Damn Sin City"!
