I was really hoping that this newsletter would have the official announcement for the new edition of Joe Hill's 20th Century Ghosts. BUT I'm glad it didn't because I don't have the cash for something I expect to have a nice big price tag on it.
As soon as I get paid (Friday Friday Friday) I'll be picking up Skeleton Crew since I've picked up all of the others. I'm just disappointed that I've never received the same number on any of my PS books even though I should have. Not that it makes a huge difference, it's just the idea of having a matching set.
It pays to ask for the same number, TacomaDriver. Although, this is what Pete says in the last (today's) PS newsletter:
A final word about numbers . . .
We (that’s ‘me’ folks) managed to screw up the numbers we provide to our chums in specialist bookstores and online sites—not to mention a few of our regular direct sale customers—and, understandably, one or two of you got a little miffed. Heck, anybody would. But this time we’re making sure we get it right. Thus, whatever number you received on the last title (that’s THINNER only and not necessarily CARRIE: take note) you can get exactly the same one on SKELETON CREW—but you MUST buy your copy of SKELETON CREW from the same place you bought THINNER, cos those outfits are gonna be getting exactly the same numbers. That make sense?
I'll order mine after having received my upcoming paycheck.
I'll be asking for Thinner's number this time and see what happens. Worst case is that I will end up with a whole set of PS's anniversary books with all unique numbers! (It's all about the spin, right?)
My numbers have been all the same. But I have been ordering from Cemetery Dance. When they offer this one I will order it again. After that I am not sure about ordering the next one. As I think the Cemetery Dance version of Night Shift will be plenty.
I was really on the fence on this one. I am hoping a CD viking years collection will follow the Doubleday years collection and I would greatly prefer a Cemetery Dance reprint over a Postscipts reprint. However I am assuming that that will be at least two years out to allow for the Doubleday books to be completed, and I really want a nice version of Skeleton Crew. I also assume that the PS editions will be long sold out by then. I jumped off the fence today and used my May coupon code for this one.
After looking at CD's Carrie, and the art that's been posted for 'Salem's Lot, I just can't imagine anyone doing a better job than CD.
That's for sure. The CD books are just on another level, but then, they do cost more too. I figure I started buying the PS editions, so I might as well get all of them now.
