New limited edition of IT by Stephen King from Folio Society

    IMG_0676.png

From the shadowed depths of Stephen King's imagination comes a new Limited Edition unlike any before. It has haunted dreams, stalked the sewers of horror fiction, and now, It emerges in a form that chills to the touch.

Approved by King himself, this Folio is summoned with haunting illustrations by Jim Burns and the eerie touch of David Curtis who brings it to life through tattered typography, bloody endpapers and a slipcase with a single crimson balloon.

Not going to be a player on this but it sure looks cool. Love the font used on the spine.

Looks very cool, especially for a folio book, but is an easy pass for me as I just don't need another edition of IT on my bookshelves at this point. Folio does seem to have a nice little set of King books going for those who haven't collected previous editions already.

        Looks like this is live.

As I stated above I am out. However it's a sharp looking book.

Forgot about it and didn't get a notification, even though for fun I signed up for it. I wasn't a player for it...didn't at all care for the look of it and already have the CD GE edition, but I was really curious to see how much they were going to charge for it. The (now sold out) page doesn't list the price...what did it go for?

Someone else can chime in but it was pound $590 if I remember correctly.

Thanks. Yowza, nearly U.S. $800, plus Folio's usual expensive shipping. More power to those who created a 7-minute sellout, but I'm sure glad I don't have the kind of King fever that makes that kind of pricing for this kind of book look enticing.

I had to sell my CD version of IT but a Folio edition, in my humble opinion, isn't worth that kind of scratch. If I were to reinvest in a special edition of IT I would likely go for the CD version.

Someone who bought it said $825, and with shipping it came to (I think) $953. Looks like a lot of them are on ebay now.

Wow, nearly $1000. That is just insane for a book with onion-skin thin paper, cliched digital page-edge printing, and an overall homemade rebound look. I'm very familiar with the fervor King fans have, but even so, I'm surprised sometimes by the degree of it.

!00 % my perspective on this edition myself. I do like Jim Burns' art just fine, but the rest of the package? Doesn't look worth more than $150 to me. People were (obviously) champing at the bit to hand over their (nearly) $1K for it, so- Folio will keep these cash cows going, I'm sure.

There will probably be a standard, slipcased version along shortly, as they do, and we'll see if the price lines up better with the package then, but, yeah- head-scratcher for me to see folks easily hand over that amount of $ for what looks like a chain bookstore "special edition".
