    Rapture Publishing-Chap Books

I didn't see a thread here for Rapture Publishing so I thought I would share. I'm not sure what the long term goals are for Rapture but they have started out with a few nice chap books.

Check them out if you like this format.

Yep. Mitch is doing a very nice job with these. Story selection has been fun and it's a nice production for chap books.

I'm tempted to break out some CB's that Keith Minnion published awhile back and re-read some of those stories as well.

White Noise Press really did the chapbook form proud...beautiful work. Whenever I think of all the different deluxe chapbook publishers that've come and go -- Footsteps, et al -- White Noise always come toward the top of my mental list as one of the best. FYI, Keith has a YouTube channel under Keith Minnion Studio @keithminnionstudioart where he periodically discusses different chapbooks and his illustration work.

Nice recall. I couldn't remember the name of the press. You are also spot on in regards to the videos. They are interesting and I enjoyed listening to Keith discuss the process and his work.

And it's gone. Still some great titles available.

                  More than chapbooks.

Raptures first venture into a full book. Slipcase on this one is so fun.

DAYTIDE by Chris Panatier featuring art by Chris Panatier and an introduction by Philip Fracassi.

Pitched as: black metal Wizard of Oz

Death comes to those who live.

The Longing is here: a ruthless psychological pandemic that only ever ends one way. Most find relief in a bullet or a blade. Kaya Sinh chose fire.

With Kaya gone, her friend Adam has only the support group they’d attended to keep him going. He’s at his lowest when a priest named Hayle Carnoth appears at group one night, claiming to have discovered a cure for the Longing. Thinking it a crude effort by the priest to seek members for his dwindling congregation, Adam drives him off.

                  But he keeps coming back.

With the Longing closing in, Adam agrees to let Father Carnoth share what he’s discovered. They visit a nearby cathedral, where something has appeared inside the steeple.

This sounds really interesting and I'm tempted to pull the trigger. Unfortunately, the website doesn't have any prototype pics of the books AND it only shows the metal turpentine container, which says is not included with purchase, so I'm a little iffy. $65 is a reasonable price these days, however...

Mitch makes nice chap books and I'm expecting the actual book to be similar to regular CD publications. I really don't know though but I did pull the trigger on this one on impulse.

I don't know anything about the author, looks like a shorter read, but why the heck not?

Yeah the tin was just for promotional purposes. I read the book and it's dark fantasy in the vein of Weaveworld and Cabal. It's a wild read that explores imbalance and a universe out of whack (wack?). The ending is one of the better ones I've read in a while.

Also, I just posted about JEFCON and my debut as a chapbook author. You be the judge if I deserved publication!

Congrats, Mr. Jeff. I bet it's a great read.
