This was my first venture into the world of Gerald Rice and I was delighted with this first short story. Short and to the point, just the way I like my short stories. It kept me wanting to know more about Walter and what was going to happen. At one point I thought I had the entire story played out in my head thinking, “This is too predictable.” but I was completely and utterly wrong about where the story was going. I enjoyed Rice’s version of events much more than the ones I had conjured up myself and the ending was simply fantastic.

The short is 3,846 words, but I have an excerpt of my upcoming novella in it, bringing the whole thing to 11,653 words.

How short? I'm up for a quick read and can do a review but only if its not too long. Your writing sounds like something I would be interested in but I only take short breaks from trying to catch up on my King reading. Let me know how long it is.
