I read the ARC of this and definitely liked it myself, was the first thing of his that I read. Found it a little slow to get into at first, but it picked up more and more as it went and it ended up being enjoyable

Is anyone able to let me know if there is any difference between this (Amazonas) and "The Slave Tree" (also by Alan Peter Ryan) that I just received? I have read Amazonas some time back and this story sounds very similar, too much else to read before The Slave Tree.

Amazonas is the middle section of The Slave Tree. Alan felt it stood alone on its own quite nicely. But the full story of what happens is told in The Slave Tree.
