Am I the only one planning on reading at one a day (or more) until the whole thing is read?

My thought was to read 1 or 2 stories
in between books.Making it last the whole year.Of course I will read them in order even the ones I have read and reread in other boooks.Of course plans could change.

The US Post Office knows it's on thin ice these days, so it's busting its hump to deliver packages early. My CBHF is "out for delivery" 5 days early! Never happened before on anything of mine!

It is pretty funny thinking about a government worker busting his ass to get something done quickly; I worked for the IRS 2 years and was told after 2 months that I needed to slow down because I was making everybody else's work seem...less than acceptable. So I had to act like I was working for 6 out of every 8 hours to make everybody else seem productive. It's hard to goof off on a daily basis when you're trying to hide that fact. It wasn't like I could sit in a breakroom and just read (though I did load new books into my ipod every other day.) Finally, I just resigned--but a year later, I got a letter from NTEU (National Treasury Employee's Union) saying that I owed them a years worth of back dues. So I showed them a letter stating I refused to sign when I joined the IRS and that they had never taken any dues out of my paycheck; but I would gladly sue them for harrassment if they wanted to continue down this path.

I neve rheard from them again.

Ha, that is pretty funny, guess they didn't wanna be sued. I've actually gotten quite a few shipments early from the USPS lately, but they also might be giving estimated delivery dates that are slower than what they typically are.

Oh, and the post office actually isn't part of the government and not paid for by the government (if was the government they wouldn't be talking about it going bankrupt, they'd just borrow more money, lol)

You are correct sir. They just operate more like a business than the rest of the Federal government. Granted they operate like a poorly run business. They'd probably solve most of their money problems if they simplified their shipping options. As much as we all like the "Media Mail" option, I'm willing to bet that they loose money on shipping those packages.

Another reaso, I needed to get out of the IRS was that 99% of them smoked. I was 4 years into my "cold turkey" phase and didn't like the temptation--that's how people waste time there: standing on the smoke deck.

I've decided that government inefficiency should join the universal absolutes of death and taxes. The majority of government is staffed by people who are unemployable in the private sector.

Somehow your's is shipping with your copy of Horror Hall of Fame. Which you purchased back when we didn't charge up front for international shipping. I think Mindy was sending paypal invoices out for that this week.

Dan, I don't quite get your last message. It almost reads as if I'm still going to have to pay for shippin/handling, while I was under the assumption this was an offer for free shipping worldwide. That's why I ordered these very heavy books. Didn't charge up front.....meaning....???

You'll have to email Mindy if that was the case. I didn't think we did the free worldwide shipping offer for pre-orders. I could be wrong though. These old titles are very complicated for us on the shipping end. As there are orders that paid for some of their postage, orders that didn't pay for any at all, and ones that are all paid up.

I got mine even though tracking had it sitting in North Carolina for 5 days. it never changed. I'm thinking, somebody in North Carolina is reading my books! I've started reading but I'm not going to set any requirements. I'll read them as the mood strikes. I am trying to slow my roll with them though, so I can remember the authors and the stories. If I read too fast, things can get lost in the ol' noggin.
