The artist edition of this is functionally sold out. If you missed out just shoot Mindy an email. There's maybe 10 or so left, but it was close enough that we'd forget to watch it and over sell, so we've pulled it from sale for now.

I love that the AE will have a different dust jacket!

I'm glad I sprung for the Artist Edition. I am more likely to splurge on a higher end edition on any project related to McCammon, even if it is a previously published story. It will be fun seeing it adapted into graphic format. I'm really looking forward to this one, and I'm happy to see it selling well.

It's selling well, the limited has been a bit of a slower burn, but we expect that'll pick up now that the AE is sold out, and definitely once we have some interior art to show off.

              Thanks for this, Hunter.

I assume this paperback edition will be coming out after the limited edition from CD? Hopefully we will still be seeing a 2020 publication date for the limited and the artist edition.

I'm not sure. I know the original plan was to publish them around the same time. It's all going to depend on the contract with Gallery I think. I don't know those details though.

It looks like the Gallery Books edition has been delayed again, this time to November 1, 2021. (Over a year from now.)

I'm assuming the limited and artist editions from CD will be delayed until then as well.

That would be my guess, but I really don't know for sure.

I was told a year ago that they would be released together, so yes, the CD editions will be delayed as well.

Gallery (Simon & Schuster) is calling the shots regarding the release schedule.

I apologize for the ignorance ahead of time, I’m not fully aware of how the publishing game works. Is it common for a publisher to announce a title and take orders for that title, tell the customers of a release date for that title then to sell the rights to another publisher and have The new publisher determine the release date for it? As a customer I kind of feel like I’m being jerked around here. I know CD is still doing the AE and limited but if I were to have known that the rights were being sold and the publication date was going to be delayed for over 2 years I would have never bought this book. I mean let’s assume you guys are close to having this book finished, I don’t know if you are but if you are , what happens you just have to sit on it and wait for another year before you can release it? That’s just insane to me you would agree to that. When I say you I mean whoever is making the decisions

You can always cancel your order. CD is very good about that. My guess is that both contracts were signed around the same ttime and CD is a small press and S and S are the big dogs so they run the show. Also remember 2020 hasn't been the greatest of years.Even the major publishers have had to delay books due to printers shutting down for months and paper shortages.

I could and probably will cancel I know that. But it’s just the point of the way this was handled is what I’m saying. Also I don’t think the contracts were signed around the same time. CD announced this title and then many months later sold the trade edition rights to S an S. I guess my overall point is I don’t think it’s right to take orders for something and then to just sell the rights to another publisher later on and make your customers wait on when they give the green light to publish. Like I said before CD could have this book finished by end of the year and Have to sit on it for another 12 months because S and S says so. That’s crazy to me and not fair to the ppl who placed orders for this.

again if I’m wrong about the terms of the agreement I fully apologize. I’m basing this off of what I’ve seen and read. CD has never really come out and said what is actually going on.

Like you said though it is what it is. I just need to shut up and deal with it or cancel. Honestly those are my 2 options. Just venting that’s all.
