Carrie will definitely be the least expensive and The Stand will be the most, that's for certain! 'Salem's Lot and The Shining will have the same prices. Nothing is completely locked in place yet. We need to see where the printing quotes come in.

Salem's Lot just KILLED me. $250 turned in to $350 very quickly. I was shocked when my cc was charged. Nothing CD did obviously, just my lack of attention to the currenct USD to CAD exchange rate. I knew the shipping was high but damn, the exchange rate! Can we go back to a few years ago when our dollar was higher. I'm seriously considering getting out of the collecting. It's just not worth it for someone like me. I'm waiting to see the after market on these doubleday artist editions. I may just try to collect them all with matching numbers then sell the lot. Along with the few signed editions I have. I don't know how anyone cc afford to pay these rates(Shipping/Exchange) on top of the cost of the book. Sometimes the shipping cost more than the book.

That's great to hear, Brian. I haven't been following this thread very closely and thought that it might have been a lot longer before Carrie would be shipped.

Also great to hear of course that you're able to get copies of all these books to PS for us Europeans.

By the way, probably been asked before but will The Stand be the original version or the longer uncut version? I'm hoping for the uncut.

I'm not sure if this was asked/answered before but I was wondering if there's any benefit in ordering directly from CD than PS. I live in Canada and for whatever reason shipping is cheaper from UK ($9cdn) and US($30us). Also do you know how more of a difference in price is between the books? Is it a huge difference? I only ask as it will determine if I go for the gift edition or the Deluxe which by the looks PS still have in stock. Thanks

Shipping timeframe is the only real advantage, but matters more to some customers than others!

There is a price increase from Carrie and 'Salem's Lot, but it isn't huge for the Gift Edition and the Numbered Artist Edition.

I'm a little surprised at what Pete is charging for shipping on this item. Did he email you a quote or is that through his store's shopping cart? I wonder if he has a special deal with the UK post office? I just ran the estimated shipping costs from the UK to Canada, and for the cheapest option they come up with:

13.80 British Pound Sterling equals 24.83 Canadian Dollar

And that's via a method I'm not sure I'd be comfortable using: no tracking, no insurance, no guarantee of delivery. If the $9cdn price is coming from his shopping cart, I'd better email Pete and make sure his site isn't leaving him short when it comes time to ship!

We’ve finally received our approval copies for the Gift Edition of Carrie by Stephen King, and we've posted a couple of "sneak peek" photos on our website:

I had a replacement postman bounce my copy of of Pure onto my porch from about 6 ft and it was unscathed (though the box took quite a beating). In CD's packaging I trust.

I reported the postman and there was a differnt postman on the route the next day. Billy (my regular) has come back from vacation and apologized to me personally!

Wasn't sure about spending the money when I ordered it, but definitely looks like it'll be worth it. Very nice!
