So the Cemetery Dance website has this new category titled 'Halloween Carnival Series' but there is nothing in it. You guys just checking to see that we are paying attention or do you have something up your sleeve?

It was either a test to see if you were paying attention or a test to see if I'd remember to deactivate the category after preparing the framework. One of us failed and the other succeeded.Originally posted by Martin View PostSo the Cemetery Dance website has this new category titled 'Halloween Carnival Series' but there is nothing in it. Most of them are nearly printer ready, I believe, so they'll be published over the next five or six months if all goes well!Originally posted by jeffingoff View PostJust wondering if there's been any movement on the Cemetery Dance Book Club. The last update I have is from October of last year.Brian James Freeman

Thanks for the quick response. I'm just a junkie needing a fix and it's a long way to June. It seems everything is hitting in June with CD and some other publishers. I might overdose.Originally posted by Brian James Freeman View PostMost of them are nearly printer ready, I believe, so they'll be published over the next five or six months if all goes well!

Any update/timescale for the lettered edition of 'screamplays'?
It's had a status of being at the traycasers for 2-3 years now with no end in sight. I know it's not quite the length of time many had to wait for things like in Laymons Terms but are we realistically likely to see this ship any time soon, thanks.
Edited for grammar.

Until our one man traycase shop completes his work on the case, we'll really not have any kind of realistic idea of when it'll ship. I'm hopeful he'll finish the projects he has by the end of the year, but he's not one of the people I work directly with, someone else in the office is his liaison, and I don't always hear much unless I ask.Originally posted by ReticentRomeo View PostAny update/timescale for the lettered edition of 'screamplays'?

The long wait for lettered editions is probably the only criticism that I could make regarding Cemetery Dance. Other publishers such as Subterranean Press seem to produce their lettered editions in a much more timely manner.Originally posted by Brian James Freeman View PostUntil our one man traycase shop completes his work on the case, we'll really not have any kind of realistic idea of when it'll ship. Looking at my orders I currently have 2 lettered editions on order:
Damnation Game - ordered November 2013. Since the limited edition hasn't yet been produced I'm not too optimistic about receiving this one within 4 years of ordering.
Gone Girl - ordered February 2014. Traycases are still in production, so more than a 3 year wait for this one.
When CD announced that only certain books would be issued as a lettered edition I was under the impression that this would reduce the lettered backlog and customers wouldn't have to wait years for these books to arrive. That doesn't seem to have happened.
I love Cemetery Dance and I've purchased thousands of dollars worth of books over many years. I can't see myself purchasing any more lettered editions though. The amount of time that money is tied up waiting for the 'one man traycase shop' to produce the traycases is just too long.

Well, the positive effects from that will only really kick in once we're caught up on the older titles since we're still working through the backlog. But some of our Lettered Editions ARE shipping much faster. SMALL WORLD was published earlier this month and the Lettered Edition is either out the door or headed out the door now. Once we're through the backlog, turnaround time for all traycases should get better. At least I sure hope so for all of us.Originally posted by Ranger View PostWhen CD announced that only certain books would be issued as a lettered edition I was under the impression that this would reduce the lettered backlog and customers wouldn't have to wait years for these books to arrive. But we totally understand being annoyed with the wait. I mean, we're annoyed with the wait -- ha! Thanks for your patience on your outstanding orders. We really appreciate it!

I do, and it's a ridiculous number. Our vendor who does our bigger runs -- like the Stephen King books that need 500 or more traycases -- doesn't normally handle the size print run we need for the regular Lettered Editions, but we're working on an arrangement to send them a bunch of old projects at the same time when their plant is normally very slow. Since it's during a time when they normally don't have much work, they'll take these small jobs to keep their workers employed -- everyone wins.Originally posted by Ranger View PostThanks for the response. Hopefully, we can do that twice with them this year and then our Lettered Edition production update for the end of the year will be a much happier one to write!
