My son said he saw the trailer for the movie while watching the super bowl last night. He said it looked like a real good movie. Did anyone else see it who has read the book? wondering if it looks like they followed the book or took lots of liberties with it.

My understanding is that they have taken a lot of liberties. Mostly focusing on a main character and the story surrounding him, where the book is about how the entire world deals with the problem. Though I have not actually read the book, I think I saw that on one of the other message boards. I think it looks like a decent movie regardless of if it follows the book to the letter.

Well I might enjoy the movie more.I was just wondering as I said the book I did not grab hold of. Guess I will have to wait and see.

Some movies do very well taking an element of the story and expanding on it rather than trying to present book on screen. Delores Claiborne is a prime example. When I heard of the movie I wondered how they would tell the story. The book is a narrative of "I did not kill her, but I did kill my husband". The movie takes place after the book and shows the effect the murder of her husband had on her relationship with her daughter. I look at the Delores Clairborne movie as a sequel to the book.

The zombies trying to climb the wall at the end of the trailer is a pretty cool effect.

So I take it that these zombies aren't slow lumberers? Fast movie zombies are scarier.

I still like the slow zombies from night and from Dawn the best. But fast is more scarier I will give you that.

For everyone who hasn't read World War Z, I cannot recommend it highly enough, it is a combination of a War journal combined with Zombie horror in a very realistic and thoughtful way, when I heard the movie was coming I hoped they would do it justice, although it seems augmented I hope the soul of the book is still present because it is a special book

The Zombie Survival Guide is done is such a serious and well-thought out manner that it made me laugh out loud when I read certain parts, it is entertaining in its own right

I instantly ordered a copy of each when they were announced

i picked up the S/L of these titles for the collection and just finished reading them on the Kindle. What was great about WWZ was how it was broken up into shorter stories from survivors around the world. Well written and good concept.

I haven't read either these books. I honestly kind of shied away from them, as there was sort of a zombie craze recently and I felt that they might be just cash grabs. However I have several friends who have read World War Z and have assured me of it's high level of quality. The cover art is amazing, and there's no better way to get a copy of a book than from CD. So I just made my first Cemetery Dance order, can't wait.
