There are also two more books for which Rick signed a contract just a week before he died. Those will be coming out from JournalStone in 2014.

We have another Rick Hautala book deep in production that will be announced and published later this year.Originally posted by sunnyckf View PostI'm now kicking myself real hard for not signing up for the CD Book Club membership. 'Waiting' might just be the last book Rick's written solo and under his own name.

Yes. I am still very sad about the passing of Rick. I didn't personally know him but we did share some communication via the web. He was gracious with his time (to me) and provided me with some positive points about my writing. This little bit of interaction impacted and touched me.

Dave Silva? The Horror Show? He's a legend man. This really is indeed a bad week for horror

Yes, it's been a very bad week for horror. First Dave Silva, then James Herbert, and now Rick Hautala. Chris Golden wrote a beautiful post about Rick:Originally posted by sunnyckf View PostR.I.P. Rick Hautala. The news comes as a real shocker. I don't know which thread to post this and this one seems the most appropriate. If it wasn't for the PS Pub newsletter and Peter Crowther's blog, wouldn't even have known about this. Alas, we've lost another great writer and talent in the genre
In other sad news from the PS Pub newsletter, British horror writer James Herbert has also passed on

I haven't quite processed the news enough to write anything that would make sense.

Thanks for the response, I am not too concerned about the error, makes it a little different.Originally posted by Dan Hocker View PostProbably just an error in that particular book. If you email Mindy we can send you a replacement or something along those lines. It happens sometimes, it's something that we sometimes miss when books aren't hand numbered.

That sounds kinda cool!Originally posted by drain74 View PostReceived my copy in Australia yesterday, all well with the packaging. One thing I found on first look through the book, not sure if it is the design or an error, is the limitation page is upside down. First thought was the dust jacket was back to front but it was just the one page.

I do hope to get this at some point, but since I could only do this or Brian's boook, this one lost out

I have enjoyed everything I have read of Ricks and I am looking forward to this as well.

This is a GREAT story, and it stuck with me well after I finished it.

I was introduced to RH through CD also, but through his two anthologies Bedbugs and Occasional Demons. I really like his style, but am on the fence about this one. I have the ERC coupon which expires this friday, and I have so many choices!
