The description reminds me a little bit of From a Buick 8.
"Dance until your feet hurt. Sing until your lungs hurt. Act until you're William Hurt." - Phil Dunphy ("Modern Family"), from Phil's-osophy.

Hmm, I am interested in this, not sure yet if I'll get it or not though. When I saw the name of the story I could of swore that it sounded familiar for some reason. Turns out I was right, it's mentioned briefly in Dreamcatcher according to the newest News From the Deadzone

I'm with you; there's nothing like a new Stephen King hardcover. Well, maybe an SK limited edition...

Anyway, I don't doubt that King will release another story collection in the future. Though it may be some time because one of his most recent releases (Just After Sunset) is this type of book. He tends to average about 7.5 years between story collections with the exception of his previously unreleased novella collections like Four Past Midnight and Full Dark, No Stars.

Hopefully King will include The Plant - finished or not.
I printed the parts that were done, but as King indicated he's not planning to continue this work-in-progress, I do hope we'll get to see it collected in an upcoming collection.

And no, I haven't read it yet. Still hoping King will change his mind and actually finish it.
