New story?

I had read an item that said King was working on a new novel about phones (not sure older versions or current). It was unclear to me, after checking out the social media message from King that seemed to spark the news, if this was actually a novel or short story. Would anyone know?

It is a new post and yes, I thought of Cell when I saw it. No idea if it is a novel or a short story.

Thanks! Yeah, it could be anything. I tend to equate "story" with "shorter than a novel" but that's just a personal interpretation. Knowing Steve, it could end up being a 900 page novel!

I too believe "story" probably translates to short story, since one would assume the word novel would have been used instead if it was that length, if only because that would seem more natural for King to do so. But like Brian says, difficult to know for sure. Maybe CD could have Mr. Chizmar ask? Or, anyone here on Twitter that could ask King? (I didn't look through all the replies on that platform to the message, maybe someone already has?)

I really like the first half or so of Cell and then not so much. It really felt like it kinda lost steam and focus.

Great assessment. I thinking that's the way it went for me as well. Not to hijack the thread, but have you see the movie? I have not but heard it was horrible.
