Definitely a better story than Mr. Mercedes. I really enjoyed Revival.

edit: updated. Finished. And, well, it wasn't spectacular. I can't agree with King as to the comments he made last June about this one - that it is "a nasty, dark piece of work... a straight-ahead horror novel." Well-written? Yes. Better than what he's done recently? Yes. But it just seemed like there was something lacking. I don't know why but I became disengaged as soon as the initial setup was out of the way. A bit too much about Jamie's wandering, perhaps. I didn't find the ending shocking or surprising, and as much as people toss around Poe and Lovecraft (major reviews, anyway) when discussing this, it seems they should be throwing around Tesla instead.

Bought a "B&N" copy and noticed that there were also copies of the "bookstore" edition, almost bought one without noticing

I found a "bookstore" edition at Walmart. I would imagine all supermarkets have that version.

I wish I knew how many of each were done. I don't think we'll ever know for sure, though. I'm guessing the the Barnes & Noble version will be the scarcer of the two, but, as I said, it's just a guess. I've heard that all the copies from Amazon are the "bookstore" ones.

I have the 'bookstore' version, still undecided if I will pick up a 'B&N' copy.

I keep forgetting to check my copy. I did get it at B&N, tho.

Interesting..... I wonder if they'd ever make more than that for a book to include different markets. For example, a Canadian release could mention Chapters instead of bookstore or Barnes & Noble. I am sure there is a big chain in the UK too that would fit this scenario.

Did you know that the US edition of Revival has two different dust jackets?

The back of one has a "teenager browsing graphic novels at Barnes & Noble"

The other has a "teenager browsing graphic novels at the bookstore"

The Barnes & Noble version is only available at Barnes & Noble.

By the way, the vertical lines in the scans are caused by my scanner and are not there in the actual dust jackets. It is caused by the holographic effect of the jackets.

I agree with John. King has always done that and I find it brings a "real world" feel to his work.

I haven't use a Surface but my friend has one and seems to like it. I know a lot more people that have iPads but I don't have one. I use a PC for work and at home I have both a PC and a Mac, I think that both have their positive attributes. Not quite like a Coke/Pepsi taste-off as there are very big differences but I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference.
