Fairy Tale - Will there be a US limited?

As there was an overseas limited/signed edition of this book do we think there will be a North American edition?

I hope so but I hadn't heard anything yet.

Anyone have an inside scoop on this?

Those who have asked have been told “no” but that sort of thing can change on a whim!

I just picked-up the special edition of this book offered by Simon & Schuster this morning. Anyone else? I couldn't pass it up as I truly loved this novel and was hoping something beyond a trade edition would be offered at some point.

Order your special edition of Stephen King’s new novel, Fairy Tale—featuring exclusive endpaper illustrations, gilded edges, a ribbon marker, and a printed case.

        Fairy Tale
        By Stephen King

Legendary storyteller Stephen King goes into the deepest well of his imagination in this spellbinding novel about a seventeen-year-old boy who inherits the keys to a parallel world where good and evil are at war, and the stakes could not be higher—for that world or ours.

I picked up a copy as well. Over on the collectors site he posted a quick clip of what appears to the actual book. I was a bit underwhelmed but still happy for this book.

Well, I had a slipcase planned for the trade edition of FAIRY TALE but then I found out there were multiple printing plants in multiple countries for that edition, resulting in at least three different sizes for the books, and I said "nope" and closed the project folder.

Now I find out the new Simon & Schuster special edition is being issued without a slipcase, so all of that prep work might not go to waste!

If you're interested in a slipcase for the special edition, please see this page on the Lividian website:

            https://lividian.com/store/custom-sl...-stephen-king/

Assuming there's enough interest AND we confirm this special edition was only printed in one plant, I will have my prototype slipcase resized to fit the special edition and take some orders!

            Best,
            Brian

On the order page: exclusive endpaper illustrations, gilded edges, a ribbon marker, and a printed case. So, I think this means there is a slipcase for this

It says a printed case right above the video. Maybe these were just the books w/o the case?

“Printed case” in bookbinding terms usually means a library binding or “paper on boards” binding where the cover is printed directly on the book. This is because “case bound” is the actual term for a hardcover binding.

It’s entirely possible they’re misusing the term, though! If so, none of there promotional images have included a slipcase yet. I guess we’ll see when they ship!

                        Maybe. I don't know.

                        Hopefully there is a slipcase.

Yep. These look like POD and similar to a library edition gussied up a bit.

Just received my copy and I'm not happy with it. It's a shelf ornament and that's all. It's lightweight and doesn't appear to be constructed well. I still like the end-paper illustrations.

Sadly I passed on the Lividian release so I could buy this. Bad decision.

I like the book, not awesome, but nice, will be better with the slipcase. But the packing was horrible - no shrinkwrap, just thrown in a box with a little bubblewrap. The book was not really damaged, but the front board is a little bent, so I piled a bunch of books on top of it to try to flatten it out.
Still think there should be a US limited as we were not permitted to order the UK limited.
