Thanks, that was an interesting read. I grew up with paperbacks, and bought hundreds of them from used bookstores in Dublin (Banba books, anyone?). I just read an old John D. MacDonald book that was printed in the late '50s, and at the end of the book someone wrote their name and the date they finished reading it...in 1968. I love that

It's why I usually leave receipts etc in books if I've used them as bookmarks. A friend was reading one of my old paperbacks this year and called me to tell me he knew that I was at JFK airport on a certain date in 1993, because I had left a receipt from a convenience store in the book. That doesn't happen with e-books. I still love my e-readers, though.

An update from Charles Ardai about the shipping status of the Limited Edition:


"As far as I know, yes, the limited editions should be shipping today (or maybe even arriving in people's hands today), but Chris and Tim would be the ones who could say this for sure. I do know they've been printed, since I've gotten my copies."

I'll let you know if the other staffers who were on the email have additional updates, but it sounds like we'll be seeing them very soon!

I'm about halfway through - enjoying it, even though there's only been the barest hint of spookiness thus far.

6/15: Finished it today. A good story. Not great, but certainly a nice summer read.
