For the e-readers among you, the good folk at Horror World recently reviewed my take of cyber-stalking, OFFLINE. Here's a snippet from the review:
"His latest, Offline, told in an Epistolary style, is a collection of Facebook instant messages exchanged between two High School students, Josh and Mandy. The messages that are presented to the reader start out innocent, playful, and flirtatious, but soon take on an air of menace, as Josh becomes more and more aggressively intrusive with his questions and demands. The reader becomes a voyeur as they take in the messages, which are presented as recently released Police documents, and it is a testament to Burke’s skill that the teenspeak never rings false. There was not one moment where I doubted that I could very well be reading real transcripts of a conversation between two High School students. Once again, Burke reeled me in, and forced me to read the whole story in one sitting, something I rarely ever do."
