The one title that's at the top of my list is volume #4 of Stephen Donaldson's The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, The Last Dark.
Should be out somehwere in October, I hope.
And then I'm going to read all 10 volumes of this amazing series of books.

I must agree!!! I finished my reread of the first trilogy and will start the second in a couple of months, but I can't wait for that last volume!!

I was planning to read one book (of this series) each month, so come October I'd beready for this final volume.
Won't work out that way, I'm afraid. Too many other books I'm dying to read.

I wish CD would finally take the plunge and go for a limited edition of the complete series.
A guaranteed best-selling series!

I'm surprised that someone has done a s/l of the series yet. Though it seems that the series would be more likely to come from Subterranean Press than CD, since SP has already published A Best of...volume from Donaldson. Either way, I'd buy them!

I don't really have anything specific I am looking forward to. I have so many books on my shelf that need to be read, and many more I want to get still. Plus, there will be some great announcements and such without a doubt that are still to come right..... I just want to keep plugging away at what I have, and make a point of getting the most out of what I choose to read.

I am really looking forward to:

The Twelve by Cronin from Cemetery Dance
The Exorcist by Blatty from Lonely Road
Vampyricon Trilogy by Clegg from Lonely Road
Relic by Preston and Child from Cemetery Dance
All 3 of the Signature Series book Cemetery Dance will be publishing

I also have several others from Cemetery Dance on order I'm looking forward to, and I know there will be even more released this year that aren't announced yet that I will be looking forward to getting (though maybe at a later time if I don't have the money to buy them before they're sold out).

Like frik51 and mhatchett I'm looking forward to Stephen Donaldson's The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, The Last Dark.

I've read The Twelve and was disappointed - muddied timeline kills the momentum of the story. A disappointment for sure after The Passage.

It's going to be a banner year for King books and I am looking forward to them all:
1) March - Owen King - Double Feature
2) April - Joe Hill - NOS4A2
3) June - Stephen King - Joyland
4) September - Stephen King - Dr. Sleep

I didn't know Owen King wrote. Isn't he the minister or is that King's daughter?

I believe the daughter is. I think Owen released a collection of stories previously.

Do you know the name of the collection and also, how many books does Joe have out up to NOs4a2?

Martin

Owen Kings collection is We're All In This Together. If I remember correctly it has about five stories in it. Some are decent but the title story is fantastic. He has also edited some collections and his wife Kelly Braffet is also a published author. Joe Hill has published two prior novels Heart Shaped Box and Horns, a collection 20th Century Ghosts as well as several comics, most notably Locke & Key. Every one of Joe's stories are great reads and Horns is currently being made into a movie starring Daniel Radcliffe.

Thank you Martin. I found Horns but knew nothing of 20th Century Ghosts.

Everyone should read 'Horns', up there with 'The Shadow of the Wind' as my favourite book!

Shadow of the Wind is fantastic!!! Angel's Game not as much.

Agree+. Love Shadow of the Wind, wasted my money on Angel's Game.

Tito_Villa
01-29-2013, 02:36 PM
Yes The Angel's Game isn't as good as 'The Shadow of the Wind', but to me it's still a great story!

The latest in the series, 'The Prisoner of Heaven' wasn't great, but i think it will be used to set up the next novel, not the right way to do it imo, but that's the route they've taken

Here's an update on Owen King's book, with a link to store appearances. He's also giving away a (not for sale) chapbook at the appearances, but if you can't get to those it looks like you have a chance of getting one thru Facebook.

It sounds like a book I wouldn't normally read, but in this case I'll make time for it.

Thank you! Most of them were made with the 2012 Renewable Gift Certificate combined with any coupons I happen to have had at the time, I can see why the CD accountants get anxious over those renewable gift certificates and why they are not offered every year

I would add the Garton books that are due from CD this year as well. I have the same list as yours plus the cdcc books and the collectors series 2 books.Going to be a super busy year for CD again. I also am looking forward to vol.4 of the Phillip K. Dick collection from Sub press.

ooops!, forgot about those, will fix that now, I did want one of the Dereliction's by Garton but kinda ran out of money on the gift certificate before I got to it, if any should happen to be available because of non-payment or dinged copies, I would definitely be interested:D

Here's one I found that's interesting:

11805

An unfinished poem of Tolkien's. This might be worth a look-see. I love Arthurian legend.

The PKD collection is the best thing on the planet. Have you read PKD's heretofore unpublished VOICES FROM THE STREET? I saw this reviewed on Book Slut, but the review was negative. LIke I care! Thought you'd want to know.

I haven't read PKD, but have picked up the first three collections from SubPress. Sounds like it's time to get started on them!

No problem. I was fortunate enough to interview Ray Bradbury during my 5-year gig at THE HORROR SHOW. The piece also appeared in FANTASY REVIEW (with big thanks to Dave Silva and Doug Winter!).
