Congrats to you too, Martin. Paul deserves every bit of praise currently being heaped on him. No doubt you will pleased.

I received my S/L on Saturday and it is simply stunning. The material used on the boards is sinful it's so smooth and fine to the touch. Exquisite!

I do wish I could go back in time and redo the day it was announced. I had the rights to a Lettered copy but couldn't afford it. I took the first low ball offer thrown at me and this was before I knew how the rights transfer was going to work. I screwed myself out of a fortune. I cannot bear to look at the pics of the collector that got my letter because I might just have to hobble myself for being so stupid.

OK, that's all the whining I will do on the subject because I am still fortunate enough to own the numbered and man! It is NICE!
I wish I could redo launch day as well. I wouldn't have used Chrome. Then I would have a sinfully smooth book in my gloved hands.

Sorry you missed out on the lettered. I think a lot of people are rethinking their decisions on both Misery and Hill House. It's tough to know at the beginning how things are going to play out. Congrats on your numbered edition! If it helps, I'm extremely jealous.

I am trying to not feel bad about skipping Hill House. That may get tougher when I have Misery in my hands.

I hated passing on Hill House too. I just don't understand why I don't have millions of dollars to buy all the books I want with...sup with that??

If I had snagged a numbered Misery, I probably would have passed on Hill House as well. Especially knowing that passing on THOHH wouldn't have caused me to lose my rights to the next numbered King book. Totally understandable considering Tommy's point--money is finite even if our love of fine editions isn't. If it helps, I will also be jealous of your numbered edition of Misery!

I snagged the numbered Hill House so I could be on the inside track. I actually regretted buying the book for that reason initially. And I was surprised that Hill House took 4 days to sell out, after all the hype Misery kicked up.

I can't wait for what Paul publishes next. Any guesses?

I'm hoping for Superfudge by Judy Blume.

If they do Twilight, I am TOTALLY going for the Extra Glitter edition!

Ahh but that feature will only work in the sunlight. Why the hell do I know that??

I know that I'll be in the minority, but I wouldn't mind a Suntup edition of Twilight because my GF if a HUGE fan of those books and movies, and it would be an amazing treasure for her to have in her different kind of book collection. She has one (maybe two?) editions that were slipcased and had an autopen autograph, but this would be on a whole other kind of level.

Regarding Hill House - I skipped that one because of the financial commitment so soon after Misery. I can't buy everything I want when I want it, so choices have to be made. Plus I've never read that story (egads! I know . . .) not that that has stopped me in the past on other books.

Paul's already stated Danielle Steel's complete works is up next for the Suntup treatment.

I was able to purchase Hill House aftermarket from a very gracious TDT member for retail. I've never read the story either but, I wanted the assurance of being in the know the next time Paul drops the mic.

I am now the proud owner of Suntup's Limited edition of Misery. This is the most money I have ever spent on a book and it is worth much more than I spent. The quality of this book exceeds my expectations and they were pretty high! It is clear that an incredible amount of thought went into every aspect of this production. I will not post photo's to my collection thread until this weekend. I am sure that the photo's will not adequately show the quality of this book. Holding this book in your hand is the only way to really experience it. I am really regretting not getting the artist edition of this and passing on Hill House as well. But that is all tempered by the complete bliss I feel when holding this book.

All I can really say is WOW!

                                Did you get a penguin?

I'm still avoiding pictures - but I keep hearing GREAT things. My copy didn't show up today, so tomorrow will be the day. I just hate the fact I won't be home. I asked my neighbors to keep an eye out for me - hopefully they're here when the delivery person arrives.
