Congratulations, I love seeing new libraries being built.
I am very fortunate to live an a community that values public spaces, including libraries. In recent years two new libraries have been built in my area. One is part of a community center about 5 minutes from my home. It is a very nice and well stocked library and is attached to a community center, teen center, full health club, indoor pool, indoor basketball courts and indoor track. I have been a member of the health club since it opened. The new main library in downtown Vancouver is massive and includes an outdoor deck on the fourth floor with views of the Columbia river. and much or Portland. The photos are of the downtown library.FVRL 01.jpgFVRL 02.jpgFVRL 03.jpg
oh that's gorgeous!
That is a beautiful Building.
Agreed!
Question for all y'all: What are your sources for book tours? How do you know when an author is coming to your town to get scribbly with it? I'm hoping to start catching authors as they come through Taxland. If they come through. I used to beg Joe Lansdale until the RO.
I hope that Dak Prescott can play golf, because if you're going to be the next Tony Romo . . .
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Just added myself back to the mailing list for the Deena Warner Halloween card. I missed the last few years.
Today I got White Bizango by Stephen Gallagher. I ordered this book from the Subterranean Press Low Stock sale. There is a tiny little "glob" of something on the back of the dustjacket. Any tips on how to safely remove it? I hope my post doesn't get lost in this thread.

Books are weapons in the war of ideas.
So true.
Books saved me from a rough childhood. Gave me confidence to face the tough things in the real world.
