I was selected in the lottery. I entered the lottery even though I was slightly undecided...now that I've won, I still have the same problem. I'll probaby end up using it...I just wish it wasn't during this expensive/holiday time of year.

I just received my signed limited copy of 11/22/63 from Simon & Schuster. A week and a day after I spent two VERY frustrating hours on the computer trying to order one.

Hey John, did they pack it well? I just placed my order from the lottery today.

That's odd; I haven't received my instructions yet from the lottery...though the email I did receive said they would contact me by end of day Friday, so I guess there's still time.

By the way, does anyone know what the limitation of this signed/limited ed. from S&S is? I've not seen any notice on that, and my question to them last week went unanswered. Is it 1500 like UNDER THE DOME...or more...or less?

I thought I heard somewhere that it was like 700, don't quote me on that though because I can't remember where I heard that.

If true, that would be a wonderfully low limitation. Maybe I'll drop S&S another note and see if they respond this time.

According to Wikepedia (for what it's worth):

"In addition to the regular trade edition, Scribner produced a signed limited edition of 1,000 copies, 850 of which were made available for sale beginning on November 8, 2011.[9] This edition features a different dust jacket, exclusive chapter-heading photos, and a DVD. Due to a web site problem on November 8, most copies remained unsold and a drawing ran from November 10 to 11 to sell the remaining copies.[10]

There was also a limited edition of 700 published in the United Kingdom. It was a slipcased hardcover with deluxe binding, photographic endpapers, and a facsimile signature, and included a DVD.[11]"

It looks like that 700 you mention, Dan, was the special UK edition.

850 is still an awfully low limitation for a S/L King from a trade publisher. I wonder where the other 150 copies (of the 1000 total) went?

I would say they probably went to King and his friends / family, as well as probably some of the people at Simon and Schuster.

Yes, it was very well packaged, with the book wrapped in shrink wrap in placed in a box. Plus, UPS doesn't often mess up packages like our Post Office.

Part of the 150 have, I'm sure, been put aside in case a book does get damaged in transit. I've read a few reports on TDT.org that some of the books have dings. One recipient even got a book that had a blank page instead of a signature! When he called S&S, he was told to ship it back (they are sending him a box and postage) and they'll send him a good one. Can't ask for more than that!

I would love a s/l but it would mean paying a premium that I just can't justify, loving the story so far!

The "Under the Dome" limited from S&S wasn't very different from the trade edition and very disappointing in that respect. Is the S/L of "11/22/63" any better?
