Will CD be getting any of the H&S Limited Editions?

    Comment

Actually, I'm broke as a joke, don't know why I asked, maybe someone else wants to know though

Very doubtful, but we've been looking into it!

I think I might order the UK trade but I am happy with the regular trade edition. Also the Gift and the Limited edition from CD. Don't want to be too greedy.

It turns out we will be able to get some copies of the Slipcased UK Edition. The CDCC will be notified first when the page goes live and then we'll send a note to our SK customers.

I now officially rename the Slipcased UK Edition to the "CD wannabe edition"

I didn't order it. No gift edition is worth $200 and thats all a book with a Facsimile signature is

Is there any illustrations in the UK version?

Doesn't seem to be from what I saw. This is what sub press says about it..

Hodder & Stoughton's limited edition is expected August/September and will feature the following:

                    Slipcase
                    Facsimile signature edition
Head and tail bands, ribbon marker
Limited edition print of cover artwork

and PSP says basically the same thing. REally not worth $200 IMO

Agree with you there. I did order the UK trade edition from CD. My wife actually made me. She loved the cat on the cover.. Nice to be told to buy a book instead to be told not to.

Yeah I was thinking of jumping on it since I missed CD's version, but it's just not that appetizing of a purchase. No illustrations and no sig. I dig the slipcase and the ribbon but that isn't worth an extra $150.

There's a review in the latest Esquire... "tense but not very scary" - they even tossed around the word "tender" and said "it reads more like a love story than a ghost story." Don't know if I like the sound of that, but I'm sure I'll get it anyway.

With that said, because The Shining is one of his best (as well as one of my personal favorites), I have high expectations for Dr. Sleep. Furthermore, I'm just glad that SK hasn't yet made good on his oft-made threat to retire from publishing.
King is not cynical enough to write a quicky knock-off. He's said many times that--even if not paid--he must write. We're lucky to still have him at all.

I DEFINITELY don't like the sound of that, but will read it when it coems out. And reserve judgement.

I don't think I agree with that quote at all.
