    Joe Lansdale's The Drive-In

A recent discover of mine (thanks to a Humble Bundle and then the obviousness (after the fact) that he wrote Bubba Ho-Tep,) I've been slowly adding his books to my collection. And I couldn't pass up a very reasonably priced edition from Centipede Press.

I tried to show the wonderful texture on the inside cover and the embossing on the outside cover.

    The Martian from Sub Press

Now that the UK edition is out of my price range, I can at least say that I have a signed edition.

Little disappointed in the cover - when they announced the artist - Daniel Dociu - I was excited to see what he'd come up with because he has some really cool things. But I'm not very impressed by this one.

I love Peanuts. I cried when I learned that Sparky died, and I cried reading his biography.

And I love seeing the artistic process. The scribbles, the erasings, everything. (That's one of the reasons I love and appreciate the one piece of original comic book art that I own - you can see so much more of the process than the printed page allows.)

I discovered this book by watching Chip Kidd on a TED TALK. It's full of tons of close up pictures of the original artwork, lots of unused sketches and strip ideas, plus a decent historical account of Peanuts over the years.

I love this cover. Nothing other than this linework (embossed.)

Thanks for the heads up! I've been debating on it. My finger is itching to pull the trigger, though.

My latest, the UK Doctor Sleep proof with the blue band:

This is #23 of 150 done. (I managed to slip the band up far enough to see the limitation number.) This is only the second one I've seen with the band.

A short while ago I won a copy of the Grant DI III proof with the package of proof prints. Here are pics of the prints that were included:

These are all on a heavier stock paper (almost cardboard) than the "regular" prints.

Picked some of these up from Kim over at Camelotbooks. I think The Martian is a great deal from Subterranean Press. A signed copy, really nice book, reasonable price. The center book is Tales of Alhazred by Donald Tyson Dark Renaissance Books Illustrated by Frank Walls. A beautiful little signed book. Really like the whole look and feel of the book. How many more Bradbury books can I justify?

It took me a while, but here is my most recent:

UK Bazaar of Bad Dreams front:

    And the back:

This is numbered. It also had the "EMBARGOED HODDER & STOUGHTON" on each page.

This gives me 130 US proofs and 49 UK ones. I also have numerous proofs of anthologies, books about King, etc.
