Nice set.
Thanks!
The Vintage Horror books look great in that slipcase.
I actually found this site when I was reading Monster Midway. I can't recall if I posted about it here. IMO, this is cool. Check it out. ~Cap

Books are weapons in the war of ideas.
Very nice set. Always love the Howard books too!
Howard and I go way back to the Lancer editions with the Frazetta covers. But I really didn't begin to appreciate him until the Zebra Paperback editions came out in the mid 70s. The Jeff Jones Covers were fantastic. Pigeons From Hell was the first one I bought, introducing me to Howard's Horror work. That Zebra series was amazing, Sowers of Thunder, The Book of Robert E. Howard Vols 1&2. There are more expensive editions but none that mean so much to me on a personal level. The University of Nebraska put out a short series, that Featured a great Collection called, The Black Stranger And Other American Tales, if you ever come upon it, pick it up. The Hardback edition is kind of pricey, but there is a paperback edition. I know Howard is some what under a cloud because his material represent the racist attitudes of his time and place, Texas in the 20-30s, but his writing is so good, some genres, so much fun.
Honestly compared to his contemporaries, Lovecraft, or even Burroughs, Howard isn't that racist. I feel like some of his characters and stories may even be a bit progressive, considering the time and place that he lived. Nonetheless that doesn't make him exempt, his ideas on race are definitely outdated.
Were They out of Chevy's....LOL!!! That is one sharp Truck, congrats!!
I'm still driving my 2001 S10, but one day I'm getting a full sized truck. The rims look great!
I really need to reopen my ebay account and sell sell sell. Not sure even if I can which sucks as my rating was near perfect except one hiccup from a SELLER. Been oh 13 years ?
Wonder if I can.
Say, this was funny. I bought a first edition copy of COLD DOG SOUP, got it, pages started falling out...melted glue ? the fuck ? then along fell a bindle with around a gram of blow someone stashed.
HA ! Cocaine in a book. Through the mail. That is a federal offense, right ? I mean, where's the drug sniffin dogs ? Oh well. Yeah the book was shite but the blow was terrific.
Anyone ever get anything extra stashed in a buy ? I found money before, and some girl's driver's license who I still stalk to this day.![]()
For several years I participated in Nielson radio ratings. Every few months they would send me a survey and when I returned it they sent me an uncirculated dollar bill. I always found it funny that they paid a dollar for each survey completed. I would use the crisp new dollar as a book mark. Periodically I find a new uncirculated dollar bill in a book. I am also pretty sure I have traded a few books in at Powell's that had uncirculated bills in them.
