    Networking

    Hey guys,

Seeing how much everyone has been excited by all of the recent talk and community support here at the CD Forums, I talked to Dan and suggested that we start a thread so we can all connect outside of here. So if you have a Twitter, Facebook Page, or blog, post it up here and we can all support each other. Always nice to network and share your work, and it should also help if people have questions, or want to spread the word about related events: contests, cool magazines, journals and websites, etc.

So, I'll go first. Post up whatever you've got.

Interesting. How did you make a fan page on goodreads?

Anyway, my actual goodreads is at http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/4462398-ken-cain

The fan pages are cool, no offense but those aren't as much networking as they are promoting. That being said, I'll still become a fan for you all. :O)

That's not a fan page, it's an author profile. If you have a book up there you can apply/create one. I have one novel, and I'm in a few anthologies and magazines/journals that are on GR, so that makes me fairly "legit" :-)

I see, so you just apply for it from your regular page?

Yeah. Just look for the Author Page tab, it's somewhere upper right hand corner, or under HELP, I forget. They're pretty cool about it. Then you can do cool things like Giveaways. I've done four, two for my novel, Transubstantiate, and two for Shivers VI, and I got about 1000 people to enter each time. Good PR tool.

That's awesome. I'd love to do another giveaway. I have about 20 copies of my book sitting around doing nothing and before long I think the reissue will come out LOL. Not sure how he is going to do it though. He may just update the limited Edition or something like that. Always love a chance to fix mistakes though.

Awesome, was going to start a thread like this a few days ago but completely forgot after getting distracted, lol

While I very rarely visit it, my twitter name is RobertJK1981

    My Facebook is http://www.facebook.com/robertkrone

On Facebook you may have to message me as it somehow thinks I have too many friend requests sometimes, even though I have none, lol. I get requests from names I don't know at all, but people who actually know me get the message that I have too many requests. Strange. Very, very strange.

I see how it works. I already had one, and just have to apply to edit it...

Can you link to multi-author works? I was going to create an author page, but my book doesn't come out until Fall. I was going to use the issues of Dark Moon Digest (in their database) to create one, but wasn't sure if I could do that.

Yes, you can. As long as you're in the TOC or someplace. And as long as you can find an ISBN anybody can post the book up. Doesn't have to be the editor or press. I did that for Pear Noir!, the issue I was in, and got a Pushcart Nomination for, since the editor had no idea how to do it. So: anthology, magazine, literary journal, go ahead an add them in. Try to do a good job of getting the description and details up there (easy to pull from Amazon) and be sure to add all of the authors in, even if they don't have a GR profile. It's mostly common sense. You can add eBooks too. I added my eStory "Victimized" up there. But you CANNOT give away eBooks/eStories in the Giveaways.
