I'm very sorry to hear about this. My Mom passed a little more than 12 years ago and I still miss her dearly. My Dad passed when I was not yet 10. Cap

Thanks, everyone...your comments are appreciated, and show again that this forum is a special place.

I’m driving down to Oregon tomorrow with my wife and daughters for the funeral, and am sticking around to manage a few issues...will be back home in several days.

Sorry, Ron. I'll say a prayer.

Thanks again to everyone for the well wishes...very kind of you all to send your public and private condolences.

In the spirit of generosity that my Dad was well known for, let's get this 1000-post drawing for Free Books back on track. I don't have the contents completely selected yet, but minimally there will be a small-press crime-fiction hardcover with multiple signatures, a trade horror hardcover, and a horror paperback...I suspect there'll be another book or two tossed in before I call it a day.

Everyone who has commented up to this point is automatically entered with two entries...anyone else who would like to be included, please chime in for your single entry. I'll let this contest go through the weekend, and will then have an on-line random number generator pick the winner (in order of posting, with each early poster receiving two entries in succession).

Good luck to all (and for those who have one, reach out and give your Dad a call tonight)!
