    RIP Ed Gorman:

Sad to hear Mr Gorman has passed away. He is one of the many authors I was introduced to by Cemetery Dance. I have really enjoyed his work but my favorite remains 'The Poker Club' which was the first book I read of his.

That's really too bad. I haven't read any of his long works, but really enjoyed the short stories I've read. RIP Ed.

Very sad -- not unexpected, given his long battle with cancer, but very sad. His was a talent that will be missed -- and based on my communication with him and from what I've read from others, he was also one helluva nice guy. As one of my very favorite authors, this one really hits hard. Anyone who hasn't yet read his novels BLACK RIVER FALLS or CAGE OF NIGHT or POKER CLUB are really missing out...and these are just the tip of the great-reading iceberg -- and, heck, he was even better at the short form. Amazing writer.
