Southern Fried & Horrified... back in business!

A couple of weeks I started blogging again. You can catch my latest post, giving my take on the decline of the coming-of-age novel at the following link:

Good to hear from you Ron!

A very thoughtful post. I enjoyed reading it.

Read this over the weekend. Now I really want to read The Memory Tree. Very good article and very good points made.

Memory Tree is terrific (I think I sniped someone on this forum when Ron held his auction to win this book).

Re-reading King's The Shining has brought back a passel of memories -- some greatly cherished and some darkly disturbing -- of my late mother's own gift of "shining".

All fiction has a bit of truth in, Ron. I don't doubt your mama had the shine; my own mother has said for years that my brother Chris appeared to her and told her had had died in a solo auto accident minutes before she got word foout minister. When I was 5 years old, I saw the ghost of my deceased paternal grandmother relaxing in her favorite chair in the room she passed away in 40 years before. Most people have something in their life they can point to that shows some sort of "shining.". Thanks for making that post.

You did a whopper of a job with your fear of spiders, Ron. Loved tghe creepiness of "Housewarming" and "The Web of la Sanguinaire!"

Truthfully, Squire, I'm considering turning La Sanguinaire into a full-length, Cajuns-versus-giant spiders horrorfest of a novel... probably next year sometime.
