Fall is so busy from September till now that I focus on short stories. I can still read and if I have to miss a day here and there I don't have to backup and figure out where I was at. I have said here before the older I get the more I appreciate the short story. Lots to say in a very compact setting.

Received Keene's Maelstrom IV yesterday. They look great!

Here are the books with the dust jackets on:

Here's the books without the dust jackets:

          And the limitation pages:

As great as the Maelstrom set looks, I was completely blown away by the first two books in the Thunderstorm/Bryan Smith line, Bitter Ale. If you've seen Thunderstorm's Douglas Western series than you have a good idea what these look like, but in black instead of brown. I haven't read any of Smith's work before, but these have more pulp sensibilities than straight up horror, so I'll have to see how it goes.

Here is the Book 1: 68 Kill

The wait for the mailman on Monday was interminable. I checked the mail on the way out to run some errands and then had to wait until I got back home to open the package. It was worth the wait though!

Good to hear. I was hesitant to pick up the books before reading any of his work but was afraid I'd wind up regretting it later if I missed the first couple books of the line. So far I'm really happy with the purchase. Now I just need to find the time to read them.

It's been a while since I've posted anything, but here are a few things that I've gotten recently.

I ordered this from Thunderstorm and was pleasantly surprised to find a matching numbered copy of Walk The Sky along with it. Paul at Thunderstorm was definitely feeling generous that day and it was most appreciated!
