That's great to hear, Brian. I assumed this was it, but it's good to know that a good story will be remembered. And Dan, i'm sure there will be a bizillion (is that even a unit?) people up for that challenge.

I didn't even know CD had a forum until Dan announced the contest, but regardless of the outcome, it'll be a place that I check out often.

We talked about this fall. Looking at some cool software to handle it all online. But we still have too much stockpiled from the last time. Rich isn't allowed to buy as much next time!

You know, I was so determined to read all the stories, and I'm flagging so terribly! Alas, I think the best route for me is going to have to be reading the final leaders plus the stories from frequent forum posters, especially because the latter folks (many of whom are in the former group) are the ones who seem like they want to trade feedback. I still feel guilty not reading and voting on all the stories, but at least I don't feel too bad skipping entries posted by someone who logged on once, dropped off their story, and then never came back.

End of summer, if all goes well with the slipcase maker -- no forms required!

finished reading/voting last night. That was fun and breaking it into groups really made it easier to tackle. I wrote down the names of the 10 stories read them and put stars next to the ones I liked then struggled over which to vote for. Repeat process 10 times. Seeing the amount of stars I had throughout the 100-plus submissions it's good to know some of these stories could pop up again in future projects if not included in this chapbook. Congrats all around.

I also just saw that. They must have really liked that story?....Right.

Maybe people who voted for the disqualified story are re-casting their votes in post form?

Or maybe new joins are posting in hopes of getting a final vote.

I'm doing the same thing. Right now I'm about two thirds done and confident that I'll have reached the end by the deadline.

This two week period is torture, sure, but whatever doesn't kill us... right? And I have to say I'm really stoked that some folks made my story their choice, regardless of the outcome. Whoever you are - thanks. It means a heck of a lot.

Could be either of these. I just thought it looked rather odd.
