And just arriving this afternoon to me...... one I've wanted to get my hands on for a while. It will likely be near the top of my TBR file, or maybe another title of his I own (Weaveworld? Great and Secret Show?)

I see on Goodreads you gave Weaveworld a very high rating. Would you say Barker is pretty easy to read?

I find him easy to read, but I sometimes find his stuff is quirky for the sake of being quirky. Weaveworld is a good example. But it still is a marvelous fantasy and provocative statement on the nature of art.

OK - Thanks for that. I was pretty sure Barker was as you said. I read Cabal years (lots of years!) ago (after seeing Nightbreed).

I think the reason why I keep not reading Anathem (Stephenson) is because of all the made up words, etc. that he uses - heard mixed reviews.

So.... my street (block) had a block sale. My neighbour had books ( uh oh....), that if they didn't sell were to be donated to a local charity re-sale store (Goodwill). I said I'd gladly take them, as we were taking a bunch of stuff down to the same place. How can I donate a batch without making sure there wasn't something I was interested in first......

              So...ended up with:

              Cat approved even!

It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be. But looking forward to it. I like Waggoner a lot.

I really like the art work on it - kind of creepy.

My first Waggoner was The Men Upstairs. It's different, but I really enjoyed it.
