oh i know, I'll read it eventually just not looking forward to it or reading it any time soon unless someone else does and feels the need to tell me there wasn't too much baseball crap and it was actually really good. but I'd have to hear that from someone who hates baseball I think

I wouldn't say its about baseball. Thats like saying "A Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" is about baseball. From the description they give seems like baseball is only the backdrop, as in "A Girl...", the story will have it as a theme but not the focal point.

Tom Gordon is my favorite non Dark Tower books. And may be my overall favorite but I can't decide. I didn't read the whole description though. I jumped to conclusions because of the onan thing

O'nan has written one baseball story. He is a master story teller. A Song for the Missing is one of the better books I have read in the last few years.

Stewart O'Nan is amazing. The Night Country is a masterpiece and I read it every October -- and I almost never re-read books.

It sounds like a ghost story with baseball as a background to me.

I had the weirdest thing happen yesterday. I use Kindle for the PC, and when I went to read King's newest, A Face in the Crowd, my Kindle would not boot up at all. Nothing. I played around with it for a while, but I still could not get anything. After some searching, I discovered that the Kindle.exe file was missing. This morning, I decided to reload the Kindle for PC and just did so. It now works perfectly! I even have the two King ebooks, Mile 81 and A Face in the Crowd without having to buy them again! I don't know how the .exe file disappeared, but it's all okay now.

I think I'll wait for the short story collection to come out that will have all of these in it. I'm sure they wouldn't leave this much money on the table without making up a "New Collection of Horror" By THE MASTER OF THE MACABRE, STEPHEN KING!
