I was kinda disappointed with this Donaldson limited. I mean, I ordered both editions, the trade plus the S/L edition, but the books are almost identical. Even the ISBN is the same, as are the dustjackets.
The only difference is the binding -the actual cover of the book- and the signature page.
    Sigh.....

The same for McCammon's The Five. Identical books, except for the binding, endpapers, three illustrations, signature page, oh, and a slipcase.
A bit of an improvement over the Donaldson book, bust still not what I expected.
I like the books, but this could have been so much better.

Wow! I love the illustrations in the S/L of The Five. I see what you mean Siep however I think the added artwork is just wonderful.

Aaaaaahhhhh, Subterranean Press...don't get me started.

But some nice items, Siep. I don't have any hardcover Donaldson, but I passed on the volume, because it was SP.

I missed out on the first couple of years - they only became available here around '72/'73. I never missed an issue. During the mid-eighties I thought it was a good idea to get rid of my collection. Don't ask.
I'm glad Dark Horse is reprinting them - these archives look almost as good as the originals.

I've still got about six more SP editions coming....

Great additions, although a shame the SP limiteds aren't a bit more different than the trades. I do like sub presses trade editions though.

I think I do too -the upcoming A Dance With Dragons, for instance, looks awesome (hope I'll be able to order a copy soon), same for McCammon's Baal.
Still, I was not too impressed with what I posted above. As I said, nice books, but not what I expected from a S/L.

The main focus of my collection lies on hardcover editions from any country I can get hold of, plus signed/limited editions. King's my number one author (collecting-wise) and my King collection just flowed over into bookcase #5. First printings are nice, but not a must at all.

    And one from Germany:

I'm not too fond of these omnibus collections, but I found this one in a friend's bookcase and was allowed to keep it.
