I think the biggest surprise to me on this list was the rankings of the Dark Tower books. It's a stark contrast to most of the discussions (and the poll) that we've had here on this site. Maybe book 1 ranked so high because people voted for it because it was the beginning of the saga. I can't believe "Drawing of the Three" rated below "The Dark Tower". And it's a shame the anthologies didn't get more love. And, personally, I don't get "Rose Madder" ranking in the top 50, much less above "Lisey's Story".

I know, I don't agree with most of the results either. I do tend to think the top two are correct as far as popularity is concerned (those two have been at the top of these type of polls for the ast 25 years). I think 11/22/63's count was as high as it was because it was the one most people had just recently read. But hey, it's just another poll. There'll be another soon....

I don't think anybody would be completely satisfied with how it turned out. But I wonder how many people ran to different computers (on different systems) and voted multiple times. Not that it matters at all.

Well, I voted 2300 times for The Stand and 1400 times for It, so that means that The Shining actually won!

I would probably put Insomnia in my top three! Although it takes a long time to get through the set up the actual story is well worth it. I also love the elements of Greek Mythology that key in the story.

I doubt there were THAT many. I voted once for The Shining--now if I'd had access to 4000 different computers...

And I put my sentimental favorite, Salem's Lot, knowing that enough other people were voting for The Stand and It.

I went for the drawing. Dark tower series is my fav and that's my favorite one. I couldn't vote fir a lot of them simply because I haven't read them yet.

TDot3 had a criminally low placing, too.
