It's why I usually leave receipts etc in books if I've used them as bookmarks. A friend was reading one of my old paperbacks this year and called me to tell me he knew that I was at JFK airport on a certain date in 1993, because I had left a receipt from a convenience store in the book. That doesn't happen with e-books. I still love my e-readers, though.

That is pretty cool, a little bit of personal history in a book.

I don't know if there's anyone from the UK on these boards but Waterstones have Joyland on the shelves and for sale!

It was on the shelf at a local Barnes & Noble in Portland Oregon today as well. I am starting it tonight!

An update from Charles Ardai about the shipping status of the Limited Edition:

"As far as I know, yes, the limited editions should be shipping today (or maybe even arriving in people's hands today), but Chris and Tim would be the ones who could say this for sure. I do know they've been printed, since I've gotten my copies."

I'll let you know if the other staffers who were on the email have additional updates, but it sounds like we'll be seeing them very soon!

Thanks for the update Brian. Good to know it may show up unannounced......

And I'm still curious about your definite plans to produce a slipcase for them.

Another update from a staffer at Titan:

"The books will be shipped out this week, and I'm sure all will be delighted with them!"

I can confirm that we will not be producing a slipcase for this title. There may be one in the works from someone else, though.

Oh poo, no one would do one as well as you.

I'm about halfway through - enjoying it, even though there's only been the barest hint of spookiness thus far.

6/15: Finished it today. A good story. Not great, but certainly a nice summer read.

From the Publishers Weekly daily email today:

"A trade paperback that has no e-book available, Stephen King’s Joyland, from Hard Case Crime, sold about 74,000 copies last week, making it the third bestselling print title in the week trailing only Entwined and Inferno."

This one is pretty much the same deal as Ghost Brothers. We have some copies for urgent orders, but are not sure when our copies from the publisher will be arriving.
