Wednesday Glen Hirshberg released a free 15,000 word story hosted at tor.com. I liked it quite a bit and am still thinking about the ending an hour later.

I'd like to read it, as I really enjoy Hirshberg's work, but I just can't summon up the wherewithal to read that much text off a screen, particularly my PC. Hopefully it'll show up in his next print collection.

I dig the art as well and love Hirshberg. While I do not like reading on electronic devices, I might have to check this out. Thanks!

Good to know I'm not alone in this dislike of eReading .

SubPress is doing a scratch and dent sale.

Mostly trade editions, but a few limiteds and overall a pretty good selection. I picked up Dying of the Light and Hellcats and Honeygirls.

Grabbed Fender Lizards (for a reading copy) and Hunter from the Woods (so I can have a HC version.)

I hear that. There are some good deals there, including Rich Chizmar's A Long December, but I already had it on order.

I picked up the limited pulp tribute Dead on the Bones by Joe Lansdale and the trade Best of Alastair Reynolds for about $40. 50% off plus no shipping was too tempting for me to pass.
