What I Learned From Stephen King

Welcome, Jason! I have read your articles as well and they're great stuff! I really enjoyed The Dark Half but Tommyknockers was not for me.

I really enjoyed the first 1/3 of The Tommyknockers. I loved the opening story of Bobbie. Enjoyed Jim's opening story enough too. And once we get into the town of Haven, it's like a series of EC horror comics -- a different one happening in each household, all of which I loved.

And then... I'm not sure what happened. Somewhere along the way, I lost interest. It did feel as though the story was taking forever to get to its conclusion.

I know King once said he believes there's a great short story hiding somewhere in The Tommyknockers. I'm inclined to say there are at least 3 or 4.

So far loving The Dark Half, but have only just begun!

HA! Weeeeell, I hate to disappoint you, but I am reading The Dark Half for the first time, having just completed The Tommyknockers. lol BUT! In between, I did manage to revisit one of my favorites, Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House. I also just read Richard Matheson's "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" for the first time.
