Thanks brian.. I had one story to submit but it was only 6800 words so I thought I'd add that to a collection of 3 or 4 shorter stories Before sending it in.

If the eBook submission window is still open in the summer I'll definitely give it a shot. If I miss the boat, however, then I'll probably go down the self-pubbing route, in which case you'll very likely get a query from me about advertising rates in the magazine. Yup, that's how seriously I'm taking this!

Good question! Given the infinitely expandable nature of the eBook line, we expect to be open to submissions for as long as we're finding great books to publish. We might take some months off here or there to give our readers a break, but take your time and get happy with the work. No need to rush. This isn't a limited time offer.

For the magazine, we'll be looking to buy about 20 stories and we'll remain open until we find them. Then we'll probably be closed for another year. I don't like having stories on file for as long as we did this last time. We bought WAY too many before we closed to submissions.

This is excellent news save for one thing: my Earth-shattering, mind-twisting, stomach-heaving, time-bending, space-splitting, blood-spurting, gore-munching Pepsi... er... NaNo novel is only partially written (albeit 100% plotted). Aaaaaaaargh, timing!!! If only I'd come back to writing sooner! (Headbutts wall. Then drinks wine. This is anger, gentrified.)

Seriously, Brian, this is a hands-down awesome announcement. I've created my Submittable account in readiness for the CD magazine submissions window, and I'd dearly love to submit my novel and chance my arm at this incredible opportunity, but a) all I have to offer is this year's NaNo novel which, naturally, is unfinished, and b) being a first draft it's rougher in places than a daschund's dangly bits. It'd be like trying to sell you Justin Bieber-endorsed stairlifts: uncomfortably premature. I wouldn't want to sully my (assumed) name by sending in stuff that would just annoy everyone.

Just to give me the slightest glimmer of hope that I could get the novel finished, second-drafted, then proof-read both professionally (Ramsey Campbell's agent offers a service I'm very tempted by) and by friends, and tidied into a final, polished draft in time to submit... after all of that, just for the sake of giving this daft lad hope... did you have a cut off date in mind for submissions, or is it a case of closing the floodgates when the deluge gets too much?

It probably goes without saying, but please only submit your very best work. Be sure to have at least one person proofread your work for you. Two or more proofreaders would be smart. Typos, misspellings, and formatting mistakes are a quick and easy way to get rejected, unfortunately.

Some questions I've been asked that I thought might be helpful here:

Q: Are the eBook submissions also being considered for the hardcover line?

A: Anything we read is being considered for print as well, but we have a very limited number of hardcover slots and our schedule is full through the beginning of 2014 right now, so it's really a matter of the right project at the right time.

Q: For fiction collections, do we send you the finished lineup as we see it, or a pool of short stories for you to select from?

A: For a collection, please submit the finished lineup as you see it in one manuscript file. Include the TOC and any previous publication credits for the story at the beginning.

Q: Will you still be re-opening the magazine to submissions?

A: We'll be opening the magazine to submissions next month. This is basically our trial run for the submission management software to make sure it works the way we hope!

Q: When will you be closing the eBook line to submissions?
