Great article, but I'd say this extends beyond horror to any genre, to a degree. I think sometimes the horror community gets caught up in the title "horror" when really great writing and story tell is great writing and story telling. Horror, sci fi, romance -- whatever trappings come with various genre should, in many respects, be the backdrop for good, solid writing.
